Website information

Privacy policy

This policy explains what information this website collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Please keep clinical information out of the website form. Use it only for basic contact and scheduling. Do not submit diagnoses, treatment history, safety concerns, or other sensitive health information.

Scope of this policy

This policy applies to information collected through www.anitalmft.com by Anita Cooper-Marquez Therapy ("the practice," "we," "us," or "our"). It covers the public website and consultation-request form. It does not replace any Notice of Privacy Practices, informed-consent document, or other privacy notice provided if a therapeutic relationship begins.

Information we collect

Information you provide. The consultation form collects your first and last name, email address, phone number, preferred contact method, and an optional scheduling note. We also collect information you choose to provide when you call or otherwise contact the practice.

Information collected automatically. When you visit, Cloudflare and the website's supporting services may process routine device, network, and request information such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, requested pages, timestamps, security signals, and error or diagnostic data. Google receives technical request information, which may include your IP address and browser details, when your browser downloads the site's Google Fonts files.

Please do not use the website to send psychotherapy notes, diagnoses, treatment history, crisis information, or other sensitive clinical information. If you provide more information than requested, we will handle it only as reasonably necessary to respond, protect the practice and its visitors, and comply with applicable obligations.

How we use information

We use website information to:

  • respond to your inquiry and arrange an initial consultation;
  • contact you by the method you select;
  • operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
  • detect and prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
  • comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect rights, safety, and property.

Submitting the form authorizes the practice to contact you about your inquiry by email, phone call, or text message, according to the preference you provide. Standard carrier rates may apply to calls or texts. You may ask us to stop nonessential follow-up communications at any time.

How information is disclosed

We disclose information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above:

  • Cloudflare hosts and protects the website, runs the contact-form Worker and Turnstile spam check, and delivers approved form messages to the practice inbox. Turnstile processes browser and security signals to distinguish people from bots; Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not access, store, or transmit form entries or other page inputs. Review Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
  • Google Fonts provides the typefaces displayed on the site. Your browser connects to Google's servers to request these files. Review Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Professional advisers and authorities may receive information when reasonably necessary to obtain legal, compliance, insurance, or security assistance; comply with law or legal process; or protect visitors, the practice, or others.
  • A successor organization may receive information as part of a practice sale, reorganization, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards and applicable law.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use website information for targeted advertising. The site does not currently use advertising pixels, session-replay tools, or behavioral analytics.

Cookies, security tools, and Do Not Track

The website does not set advertising cookies. Cloudflare may use cookies, short-lived identifiers, or similar technologies when needed to deliver and protect the site and operate Turnstile. The exact technology can depend on Cloudflare's configuration and the security challenge presented.

Because the practice does not track visitors over time across unaffiliated websites for advertising and does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, the site does not respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals. Global Privacy Control and similar opt-out signals do not change the site's operation because there is no sale or advertising-related sharing to opt out of. Third-party providers process information under their own policies and may respond to privacy signals differently.

Retention

We keep website inquiry information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage practice communications, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal, insurance, or professional obligations. Retention can vary according to the nature of the communication and whether you become a client. If a therapeutic relationship begins, information incorporated into a clinical or business record may be retained under the separate policies and legal requirements that apply to that record.

Security and sensitive communications

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to this website, including encrypted web connections, server-side validation, origin checks, spam protection, and restricted email delivery. No website, email, text message, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. For that reason, keep the form limited to contact and scheduling details.

This website is not monitored for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Children and teens

The website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 submitted information, please contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate. People under 18 should use the site with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian when required by applicable law.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may ask to know what personal information the practice maintains about you through the website, or request correction or deletion, by calling (916) 672-2166 or using the contact form. To protect privacy, we may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. We may retain information when required or permitted by law, including for security, recordkeeping, legal claims, or professional obligations.

California law may provide additional rights depending on the law and the circumstances, including rights to know, correct, or delete certain information and to receive equal service when exercising a privacy right. The practice does not discriminate against anyone for making a good-faith privacy request. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not provide a "Do Not Sell or Share" link.

External links

The site may link to resources operated by other organizations. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, and we encourage you to review them before providing information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website, vendors, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted on the site when appropriate.
