Website information

Terms of use

These terms explain the boundaries and permitted use of this website. Please read them before using the site or submitting an inquiry.

This website is not therapy, medical advice, or an emergency service. Using the site or sending an inquiry does not create a therapist-client relationship.

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Anita Cooper-Marquez Therapy ("the practice," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of www.anitalmft.com. By using the site, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

General information only

The site provides general educational and practice information. It is not psychotherapy, medical or mental-health advice, diagnosis, treatment, crisis counseling, or a substitute for care from a qualified professional who understands your circumstances. Do not delay or disregard professional advice because of information on this site.

Therapeutic services are provided only after the practice and client expressly agree to begin care and complete the required consent and intake process. A website visit, phone message, consultation request, or introductory conversation does not create a therapist-client relationship, guarantee an appointment, or require either party to begin treatment.

Emergencies and urgent needs

The site, contact form, email, and practice voicemail are not monitored continuously and must not be used for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are outside the United States, contact your local emergency service or crisis resource.

Services, fees, insurance, and availability

Descriptions of services, approaches, fees, insurance participation, office hours, response times, and availability are general and may change. Confirm current details directly with the practice before relying on them. Eligibility for services depends on clinical fit, scheduling, licensure, your physical location at the time of service, and other professional or legal requirements.

Insurance coverage, reimbursement, deductibles, and benefits are determined by your plan and are not guaranteed by the practice or this website. You remain responsible for confirming benefits and for charges as described in any service agreement you later enter.

Geographic and age limitations

The website may be viewed from many locations, but its description of therapy services is directed to people who may legally receive services from the practice in California. Accessing the site from another location does not mean that services are available or lawful there. People under 18 should use the site with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian when required by applicable law.

Consultation form and electronic communications

The consultation form is limited to basic contact and scheduling information. Do not submit diagnoses, treatment history, safety concerns, psychotherapy notes, or other sensitive health information. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit and for keeping access to your email account, phone, and devices secure.

By submitting the form, you request and authorize a response about your inquiry by the contact method you select. Email, phone, and text can have privacy and security risks, and standard carrier rates may apply. You may withdraw consent to nonessential follow-up communications by telling the practice, but doing so will not affect communications already sent or records the practice is permitted or required to keep.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy describes website data practices and is incorporated into these Terms. Any privacy, informed-consent, cancellation, telehealth, payment, or other practice documents provided after care begins are separate and will control the therapeutic relationship. If a conflict exists, the more specific client document controls for clinical services.

Permitted use

You may use the site for lawful, personal, noncommercial purposes. You may not:

  • use the site in a way that violates law or another person's rights;
  • submit false, misleading, fraudulent, threatening, or unlawful material;
  • attempt to bypass the contact form's security, spam protection, or access controls;
  • introduce malware, probe for vulnerabilities, overload the site, or interfere with its operation;
  • scrape, harvest, or collect information from the site through automated means without written permission; or
  • copy, republish, sell, or exploit site content except as allowed by law or written permission.

We may restrict access, block requests, or take other reasonable action when we believe use threatens security, violates these Terms, or harms the practice or others.

Ownership and limited license

The site's text, design, graphics, branding, photographs, code, and other original content are owned by or licensed to the practice and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We give you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to view and use the site for its intended personal, informational purpose. No other rights are granted.

Third-party links and resources

Links to crisis services, insurance information, professional resources, or other third-party sites are provided for convenience. We do not control or endorse every statement, product, privacy practice, security measure, or availability decision of a third party. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and policies.

Accessibility

We aim to make the website usable by a broad audience. If you have difficulty accessing site information or need it in another reasonable format, call (916) 672-2166. We welcome specific feedback and will make reasonable efforts to provide the information you need.

No warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is provided "as is" and "as available." Although we aim for accurate, useful, and secure information, we do not warrant that the site will always be complete, current, uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any particular service or outcome will be available. Nothing in these Terms limits a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the practice and its owner, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of, or inability to use, this public website. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law and does not limit obligations arising from an established therapist-client relationship under separate agreements and applicable professional law.

Governing law, severability, and waiver

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal law controls. If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

Changes to the site or these terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site and may update these Terms as the website, services, vendors, or legal requirements change. Revised Terms take effect when posted here unless a later date is stated. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
